So what is a truffle? I'm glad you asked...

A truffle should not be confused with a chocolate treat. True truffles are fungi that grow on the roots of oak trees. Because of this, they are found primarily in heavily wooded areas. They are very scarce, which makes them pricey. Finally, truffles have a short shelf life. By infusing them in honey their impeccable flavor is captured and preserved.

This honey has a sweet and earthy fragrance and a light amber color. The flavor profile has hints of nuts and garlic.

Truffle Honey is ideal for a charcuterie plate. It can be drizzled on goat cheese crostini, or fig and caramelized onion pizza, savory desserts, or used in a vinaigrette. Also, it is great over vanilla or butter pecan ice cream.
