Alpine Wildflower Honey comes from the Italian Alps region.
Alpine Wildflower honey has a characteristic sweet, floral flavor. Slightly runny and strong, this honey is distinguished by a medium amber tint.
This is the fruit of the work of Andrea Bianco, a beekeeper who carries on the traditions of his Father Mario Bianco. This experience has inspired the MB MIELI D'AUTORE line which has won numerous national and international awards.
Collected in the national Park of Gran Paradiso at high elevation (about 1000 m or more). Alpine Wildflower honey is produced from the nectar of high pasture flowers, especially rhododendron and sainfoin.
Mario Bianco performed his artistry with his crew of bees in the town of Caluso, located in the northwestern part of the Piedmont, approximately 45 miles north of Turin. From that vantage point in the Alpine foothills, Bianco and his team of flying assistants worked the flowering patterns of the local flora to produce an extraordinary variety of honeys. Sadly, Mario Bianco died in a tragic automobile accident at an age far too young. His work is carried on with equal fervor and talent by his son, Andrea Bianco.
- Summer production of the Italian alpine meadows.
- Contains nectars of more than 40 different flowers.
- Color from light amber to dark hazelnut.
- Delicate to medium intense flavor.
- Excellent combined with yogurt or mountain cheeses.
- The goop.com website created by Gwyneth Paltrow has called this one of the best honeys in the world.
8.8 oz (250 g) Glass Jar.
Made in Italy.
