Left alone, the system tends to find its own level.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"rsbp__p\"\u003eWhat we see in customers moving away from strong detergent shampoos is that the level takes a while to find. Scalps washed daily with a powerful surfactant often feel oily again within a day, and washing again keeps the cycle going. Several weeks of gentler washing usually settles it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"rsbp__note\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWe should be careful how strongly we put that.\u003c\/strong\u003e The idea that frequent washing drives the scalp to produce more oil is widely held and matches what we hear from customers, but we have not found it firmly established in the research literature. \u003cstrong\u003eIt is our observation, not a measured fact.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"rsbp__p\"\u003eIf you use this bar during that transition, use it \u003cstrong\u003esparingly and not daily\u003c\/strong\u003e, and follow it with the treatment powder if your hair squeaks.
